5 Top Beach Destinations Around The World

Winter is well and truly here, leaving summer as a distant memory. To combat the seasonal blues, wrap a blanket around you, grab a comforting hot beverage and warm up by looking at cheap holidays to book. You might even want to push the boat out and look for something on the luxurious side for 2015.

Here are five top beach destinations:

Mauritius is a slice of heaven on earth. With beautiful white sand beaches and the cobalt blue Indian Ocean, you may just want to spend your time relaxing, but Mauritius has so much more to offer.

You could go dolphin spotting, or take the opportunity to try new water sports, including wind and kite surfing. There is also a vast amount of historic, cultural and natural sights to visit, like the Botanical Garden or Grand Bassin Lake. The cuisine on offer is great with influences from China, India, France and Africa.

Belle Mare is a great all-rounder resort, hosting great hotels, set on the east coast of Mauritius. It boasts long white beaches, a coral which is home to a great range of sea life, championship golf courses and a family friendly waterpark.

Aruba is another place to add to your list. It has a great balance of Caribbean, Dutch and North American influences, which is reflected with the architecture and cuisine.

Palm Beach is one of the island’s most popular shore resorts, which is showered with multiple restaurants, bars and night clubs. Some even host casinos to keep you entertained when the sun sets.

If you are looking for something a little quieter, Eagle Beach is perfect. Eagle Beach is more traditional, with smaller hotels, and less lively resorts, picture-perfect place to relax with a Pina Coladas.

Boa Vista

Boa Vista is part of ten isles of Cape Verde, commonly referred to as the African Caribbean. Boa Vista is home to grand resorts such as Karamboa and Touareg. The Sal Rei is small but worth a visit and the island hasn’t been developed much out of the resorts, so it can be like going back in time.

Khao Lak

Khao Lak on Thailand’s southwest coast is a great beach resort with comfort and extensive facilities. If you can tear yourself aware from relaxing, the scuba diving there is a must. Take a day trip away from the beach and explore one of Khao Lak’s three national parks. The most popular is Lam Ru National Park, which is made up of mangroves, waterfalls, a jungle and hills.

Mykonos is a great Greek island to visit, with its picturesque views of the white washed buildings, eloping to the blue waters. MyKonos is easy to get about with the regular taxi-boats. Mykonos Town is a must see, with its tiny chapels, a trio of museums, and tonnes of boutiques and art galleries.

One of these destinations is bound to give you a warm feeling, so make sure you have something to look forward to over the next few winter months and make those dreams of having a killer tan come true.
